How To Be The Parent They Need

aka…How To Keep Your Sh*t Together When Your Kids Are Losing Theirs

Lockdown has left many of our kids struggling.

Withdrawal, sullenness and silence.

Or tears, upset and chaos.

Surely our job as parents is to help them find their way through this, to figure out how to do things to make them feel happier, encourage them to engage outside of their bedrooms and if needs be get the right professional help in place when we’re in over our heads.

So how come none of it’s working??????

Parents just like you all over the world are stuck, frustrated, guilt-ridden and have run out of ideas for what to do next.

You are not alone. I’m glad you found your way here.

What They Need Is For YOU To Stop Freaking Out!

To be really helpful to our children, it’s incredibly helpful if we can find our own solid ground such that we become unshakeable no matter what is going on with them.

To get clear on what our role actually is as a parent, to discover a simple way to know what to do next, to see what they already have going for them and dissolve the myths and misunderstandings that leave us feeling like we’re failing.

There’s actually a lot less to do than you might think.

And there’s nothing more helpful to a child than a parent who’s rock solid.

I’d Love To Share With You What Changed Everything for Me

My name is Nicola Bird and as well as being the founder of A Little Peace of Mind, I’m a mother of a thirteen, fifteen and seventeen year old.

And if there was a gift to be had for me in 2020, it was a deep dive into learning about parenting kids who are struggling. Really struggling.

What I’ve learned has transformed my relationship the people who are most precious to me and I’d love to share with you what I discovered.

Starting at 12.30pm UK on Friday 26th February, we’ll spend an hour together each week for six weeks exploring the following topics.

1: It’s not your fault

Surely there’s something we’re doing wrong that means that they’re screwed up? If we just figure that out, then we could change it and fix them, right?

Let’s take this one to pieces right at the start.

2. What they have going for them

Sometimes we see our kids as helpless victims of their upset and struggles, making bad decisions and needing us as parents to come in and ‘do the right thing’ so that they’ll be OK.

Here we’ll explore what they have going for them that means we’re surplus to requirements.

3. How do we know what to do?

I know what it’s like to feel at your wit’s end (!) WHAT do we need to do next? Would it be better if I did x or y? Should I get more involved or less? Should I call someone for help or am I overreacting?

There’s a REALLY simple solution to this one – and it’s going to be a huge relief for you.

 4. What’s your job?

Up until I learned what I’m going to share with you, I had created a HUGE job description of what the verb ‘parenting’ meant.

I want to share with you what I saw that took about 99.9% of that off my to-do list 🙂

5. What if nothing changes?

What if they’re still staying in bed all day, self-harming, taking risks, being rude or totally withdrawn and on their devices all day even though we’re now in week 5???!

Chances are they may well be. But there’s a fresh way of looking at this that might not have occurred to you.

 6. Love & Laughter

Remember those? Here we’re going to explore how everything you want in your family is right under your nose – there for the taking.

This was my most profound insight of 2020 and there is no more precious gift than discovering what I will share with you in this final week together.

How Does It Work?

This is a six week program where we’ll meet at 12.30pm UK each Friday for an hour, online, starting Friday 26th February.

I’ll share what I’ve learned that has made such a difference to me – truths about how we ALL work to bring a new perspective on your parenting and your children. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions.

Call will be recorded if you can’t make the sessions live and yours to keep and re-visit whenever you want to. We’ll also have a pop-up Facebook Group for the duration of the course. There are also a limited number of private coaching calls available.
