“My anxiety was so much better, then it was bad again”

This post is by our guest blogger and A Little Peace of Mind graduate, Amie Joof.

Here Amie shares her story of change…..

I have seen a few different comments/posts which sound something like “at first, my anxiety was so much better, then it was bad again.”

I just wanted you to be open about something..
Somedays, the sun is shining. Somedays, it’s not.
On Wednesday it may be windy, on Friday perhaps not.
This week has been dull, next it might snow.

Sure, if it’s pouring of rain one day, we might not like that, we may feel uncomfortable being soaked! However, another person may be dancing in the rain and splashing in the puddles.

Will the rain last forever? Nope.
Is the rain a natural part of life? Yep.
Is it okay to like the rain on Tuesday and feel like you can’t handle the rain on Wednesday? Yep.

No matter what comes up from one day to the next, one hour to the next, we ALWAYS reset back to our natural default of calm. Peace.

When we accept thought for what it is.

If I think to a time that I feel really anxious, I know that even for a split second I had another thought, maybe a fly in the room caught my attention for a second, during that second, I was back to my default because I was not engaging and believing in the thoughts prior to that.

Yes, we will ALL feel anxious sometimes. It just doesn’t matter. When those hours or days come, let them. We are human beings, we are allowed. You don’t HAVE to feel okay about feeling anxious every time. Some times you can feel totally not okay with it and STILL, that is okay! How incredible is it to know that no matter what we think, believe or do, we’re actually always okay.

Please remember, the goal is not about being able to never feeling anxious again.
